Doomsday Engine

PWADs and other data files get an autogenerated version number in the case they don't have associated metadata. This version is partially based on the file's modification timestamp.

In the common case of editing a PWAD, its autogenerated version changes on every change to the file. This makes it cumbersome to test the file, since the profile always uses the older, now unavailable version.

Doomsday should therefore automatically upgrade a profile's package to a later version of the same package, if both versions are autogenerated. This has no effect on savegame checks, which will still (correctly) complain about potential incompatibility.
