A bit of cleanup and fixes have been done to the joystick handling in dd_input.c and sys_input.c (any number of axes supported; deadzone and scaling fixed).
Added P_PlayerThinkLookAround(), which will, after P_GetControlState() materializes, be handling the player view angles. skyjake
