It shouldn't be necessary to create multiple copies of the same texture. You can use the same texture with as many materials as you wish by just creating a new material definition.

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean with the source color inheriting however. Which property are you suggesting a source could inherit from, the sector's light color? That doesn't seem all that useful to me.

Yes, I meant that they would use the sector's light color. I experimented on this myself. I made it so that if I set the Color { -1 -1 -1 } in the decoration then it will get the color from the sector. Which also allowed me to make dynamic color changing disco lights...

Is it useful though? Artistically speaking, when would one realistically want the light decoration color to be the same as the sector they appear in? You'd surely want them to be different colors no?

My intuition tells me that this isn't what you really want, Is the primary motivation to reduce the number of definitions you have to write? If that is the case and this isn't for artistic reasons, then I'm inclined to think there is a better solution.
