Hello,
I am using Doomsday 1.14.4 on OS X 10.9.3 with the vanilla preset, no extra mods loaded. I have the problem that sporadically a shot only fires when I release the left mouse button, pressing and holding it down does nothing.
This behavior also shows when a new game is started. Launch snowberry, launch game (Doom, Doom 2, Heretic, it does not matter), then start a new game. When gameplay starts, the first shot will only fire when the mouse button is released.

It is worth noting that the game in Heretic and HeXen start's before Dday's screen wipe (the fade effect) has finished. During this moment, I don't believe Dday will respond to player input.

The type of screen wipe used in Heretic and HeXen (compared to Doom's different screenwipe) also makes it a little difficult to tell at a glance when the screen wipe has actually finished and thus when you can take control of the game.

This is true. However, for my problem to occur, it does not matter how long you wait, you can even move around before trying to trigger it.

Closing as obsolete. SDL2 in version 3 should anyway resolve input issues like this.
