The libary is not GPL compatible and based on the poll results here http://forums.newdoom.com/showthread.php?t=31200 indicate that it is unused. sdl_mixer supports .mp3, .ogg, .mid, .mod and plain sdl supports .wav. cd audio support is unknown, but no one claimed to use it.
