Much like the audio plugins, input devices should Would be abstracted behind a plugin mechanism. An input plugin would feed input events into the engine's input subsystem from any great if people could write controller plugins for
indivdual controllers, ensuring PROPER controller and
force feedback (I know Doomsday does not have
this....yet).
Ex: Ever see those adapters that allow you to use
console controllers specific to / configured on PCs. Imagine proper support for
those controllers in Doomsday (I still like the plugin. mouse and
keyboard)
Also, a controller setup wizard for easier control setup.
